Do Bubb Rubb's whistle tips count as fake engine sounds or something else?

Agreed. My first mod on the Focus was removing the sound symposer. Now my car doesn't sound good, but it definitely sounds better.

And it sounds like it actually sounds! Which is honest.

It's a neat idea, but it should work the other way around:
The sport cars, supercars and muscle cars should not have electronic sound enhancing technique (I'm all for exhaust valves and intake sound piping; it's the engine's real sound, but modulated differently). Enthusiasts buy these, and most of the time we want to hear the byproduct of burning fuel through our expensive machines. It's part of the fun.
BUT, I would love to have the sound of a Ferrari 250 GTO or a Mazda 787B piped through the speakers of my base-model Corolla or Grand Caravan. These things sounds like shit anyway, so why not make a boring commute enjoyable with glorious (if fake) noises?

I love this idea.

I think Renault has this on the Clio, so Renault F1 V10 in a Clio.

Ooh nice.
Every Clio, not just the racey one? (not sure which Clio is the sport model, my French domestic automaker knowledge isn't up to par)

I know it's on the RS, but I don't know about the base model. But we know the technology is there.

God damn heresy. I want to hear my disgusting egg-beater pooting along, so I can aim to have a glorious aspirate V10 F1 Renault engine one day. Or at least that angry bee hive coming out of Collin Mcrae Focus I loved so much.
If we have noise-cancellation, I choose to have no noise at all and turn on the radio.

I would opt for a Jaguar F-type soundtrack in my Jetta.

It would be nice if you could simply upload a soundtrack in your car depending on your mood.
The technology is there, why not use it?
